We wish to advise the trade and public that Elephant Hills Resort will defer its planned November 2026 closure for refurbishment, in recognition of Zimbabwe’s privileged role as co-host of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup. The Resort was originally scheduled to undergo an 18-month major refurbishment and rebranding programme, with reopening planned for Q2 2028. However, to support Zimbabwe’s exposure on the global stage, Elephant Hills Resort will remain fully operational during 2026 and 2027.
This decision ensures that Victoria Falls, as Zimbabwe’s premier tourism destination, retains essential room inventory to accommodate the influx of fans, international visitors and travellers during the tournament.
Please be assured that our commitment to refurbish the Resort remains firm. The planned works will proceed immediately following the World Cup, as African Sun remains deeply invested to enhance the property and elevate guest experience, while continuing to provide the quality and capacity the market requires.
We thank our stakeholders, shareholders, and valued trade partners for their continued support, and understanding.
